Tackling Wastewater Challenges in the Face of Climate Change

As climate change continues to impact communities around the world, the need for innovative and sustainable water management solutions has never been more critical. In the northern West Bank city of Jenin, our team at SES recently had the opportunity to play a pivotal role in addressing these pressing issues through the Jenin Wastewater Management and Reuse Project.

Partnering with AECOM and client USAID, we were tasked with finalizing the comprehensive design for this landmark initiative. The goal: to develop an integrated system that could effectively collect, treat, and repurpose wastewater – a vital resource that is often overlooked, especially in regions facing the challenges of a changing climate.

Our team of experts dove into the project, leveraging their deep knowledge of water infrastructure, environmental engineering and sustainable technologies.

After months of work, we are proud to announce the completion of the design phase.

By repurposing wastewater for agricultural irrigation and other non-potable applications, the project will not only reduce the strain on scarce freshwater resources, but also contribute to food security and economic resilience in the face of climate change.
